Via Variety gibt es erste konkrete Informationen zur neuen Staffel von Black Mirror, die aktuell noch ohne genaues Startdatum demnächst beim Netflix starten wird. Die letztjährige Staffel fing im Oktober an, weshalb ich auch dieses Mal von einem zeitnahen Release ausgehe.

Ob ich es überhaupt notwendig fand, weitere Folgen der Serie über scary tech nach dem Aus bei Channel 4 zu produzieren, klammere ich hier einfach mal aus. Trotzdem ist es weird, dass eine Serie, die bisher so grounded war, jetzt auf einmal eine Star Trek Parodie zu machen scheint. Vielleicht ist das aber ja nur ein Twist, am Ende nehmen alle die VR-Brillen ab und gehen wieder ihre eigenen Wege.

Ansonsten berauscht mich das Lineup der Schauspieler nicht wirklich. Was Mut macht ist die Ansammlung der Regisseure: Jodie Foster, John Hillcoat, David Slade sowie Tim Van Patten, der mir für seine grandiosen Leistungen bei Boardwalk Empire sowie den Sopranos sehr gut im Gedächtnis blieb. Außerdem bin ich sehr darauf gespannt, was Colm McCarthy in der Folge Black Museum treiben wird. Seinen Film The Girl With All The Gifts fand ich großartig.

– Arkangel appears to tackle the theme of medicine. The episode stars Rosemarie Dewitt, Brenna Harding and Owen Teague, was written by Charlie Brooker, and is directed by Jodie Foster.
– Black Museum stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun. It is directed by Colm McCarthy.
– Crocodile stars Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower and Kiran Sonia Sawar. It is directed by John Hillcoat.
– Hang the DJ stars Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole and George Blagden. It is directed by Tim Van Patten.
– Metalhead stars Maxine Peake, Jake Davies and Clint Dyer. It is directed by David Slade.
