MarketSaw hat vor 3 Jahren erfolgreich dank einer Quelle vorhergesagt, dass neue Star Wars Filme kommen könnten. Glückstreffer? Womöglich, aber sie beriefen sich damals auf eine Quelle, die sich jetzt wieder zurückgemeldet hat und Informationen zu den neuen Filmen liefern möchte. Ohne groß zu spoilern, es ist der feuchte Traum eines jeden Fans und gerade deshalb sollte man das natürlich mit großer Vorsicht lesen.

Zunächst einmal bestätigt die Quelle andere Gerüchte, dass Luke Skywalker der neue Fokus der Trilogie sein wird. Weiterhin sollen alle Drehbüchern basierend auf alten Episodenentwürfen von Lucas geschrieben werden. Oh Gott! Doch die Quelle beruhigt uns schnell:

The main problem was the age of the cast, and the tone of the story. Now I do believe that Walt Disney intend on playing to the cultural significance of that original trilogy. You will see a tone more in line with the original trilogy

Und nun zu den Story-Details und dem möglichen Titel, die einfach zu gut klingen als ob da ein Fünkchen Wahrheit drin stecken könnte.

I don’t believe the empire was completely destroyed by the end of Return of the Jedi.

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C3PO and R2D2 are I am assured to feature prominently in the new trilogy, as was always the idea. Apparently some have already been approached. Quite a while back too to my understanding. (Anmerkung: George sprach bereits letztes Jahr mit Carrie Fisher und Mark Hamill.)
Hamill is a certainty.

There are two trilogies planned, all following an original overview by Lucas, which was always planned as a multi generational saga. Movies 10 – 12 are from my understanding about the offspring of the Skywalkers, set many years later with the surviving cast playing much older versions of themselves and featuring a female protagonist named Skywalker. This is something that I understand is being discussed as the latest trilogy may end up being an amalgamation of the two using themes and ideas from both, but still keeping the general story, also allowing for continuity of cast.

Und zu den Blu-Ray Veröffentlichungen der Originalfassung der alten Trilogie weiß er auch mehr zu sagen. Mir explodierte damals ja der Kopf als Lucas Ewoks blinken ließ und Vader “Nooo!” schrie.

You can expect lovingly restored prints of the original trilogy to surface in the near future. That’s a no brainer. I along with the rest of the world want those movies in their original glory. Disney are all over that

Meines Wissens hat aber 20th Century Fox die Rechte daran. Also alles sehr vage. Ebenso wie die Liste der Leute die der Insider nennt, die Disney und Lucasfilm für kommende Episoden als Regisseure vorsehen. Liest sich wie die ganzen anderen “Welchen angesagten Regisseur finden wir momentan total cool”-Listen, wie sie andere Filmblogs um die Ohren hauen, in denen im Prinzip nur Fanfavorites stehen. Da stehen dann Leute wie Rian Johnson drauf. Schamloser Hitmaximierungsbullshit.

Ist also wahrscheinlich ohnehin alles großer Quatsch, aber ich bin momentan so aufgeregt und einfach down für diese Filme, dass ich mir das trotzdem ins Blog haue. Ich war mir heute morgen sogar SW-Actionfiguren kaufen, so aufgeregt bin ich. (Wobei ich dafür aber sonst eigentlich keinen bestimmten Grund bräuchte.)
