Wunderschöne Kurzdoku über das Leben als Mitarbeiter auf einem Feuerwachturm. In meiner Zeit in Montana hatte ich mal die Gelegenheit mit Jemandem zu reden, der das für eine gewisse Zeit gemacht hat. In Montana ist das natürlich eine wesentlich längere Sache, man geht da für mehrere Wochen, wenn nicht Monate hoch, und hat so gut wie keinen bis absolut null Kontakt zur Außenwelt, nicht so wie der gute Herr hier im Video. Trotzdem ein netter Job, könnte vielleicht nach einer gewissen Zeit langweilig werden, aber wofür gibt es Angry Birds?

The video documents the (usually) very peaceful life of a fire lookout in the Gardner Lookout on the East Peak of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, California. I’ve been a Marin County Fire Department volunteer lookout for two years and deeply love the mountain and the peace it brings to us here in the Bay Area. Perhaps this 6-minute video will convey some of the emotions I feel when sitting (and sleeping) on her peak.
