Über die Ambitionen von Huan Vu (Regie, Drehbuch) und Jan Roth (Produzent, VFX Supervisor), nach ihrem großen Erfolg mit Die Farbe, einen weiteren H.P. Lovecraft-Film zu drehen, habe ich schon öfters berichtet. Nun aber ist die Crowdfundingkampagne endlich gestartet und es geht ans Eingemachte. Ganze 200.000€ versuchen sie über IndieGogo zu erlangen, was sich zunächst einmal recht viel anhört, bei ihren Vorstellungen jedoch noch ein absolutes Schnäppchen darstellt. Die Kampagne sollte man großzügig unterstützen, das ist schon eine super Sache – und das aus Deutschland!

THE DREAMLANDS is a dark fantasy film based on H.P. Lovecraft’s Dream Cycle, destined to become one of the most ambitious and lavish independent films ever made – but we need your help to embark on this epic journey. Here are the key facts:

Principle filming will be done entirely in English with an international cast who will be cast as the production process progresses. Afterwards, the completed film will also be dubbed in German using a renowned cast of voice actors. Subtitles in many other languages will be provided.

Around the half of the film will be shot in a professional film studio here in Germany, where we have to build sets. The other half will be filmed at the Baltic Coast and other outdoor locations providing the landscapes we seek, e.g. Iceland, Croatia or Turkey.

Für gerade einmal 20€ erhält man einen Namen in den Credits und die Blu-Ray. Das Projekt soll ungefähr gegen Ende 2016 fertiggestellt werden. Der letzte Teaser zum Projekt feierte übrigens auf der Genrenale in Berlin Premiere und die Reaktionen waren enorm positiv. Ich würde mich für die Initiatoren des Projektes und generell für den Neuen Deutschen Genrefilm freuen, wenn meine Leser ein paar Euro in dieses Projekt stecken würden.
