“Oswalds Revenge…” edition of 200.Illustrator Daniel Danger kennt sich mit Schrottplätzen aus und sein apokalyptischer Disneyland-Print “to all that come to this happy place…” erweckt in mir eine gewisse Sehnsucht Schadenfreude. Die Schwarz-Weiß-Variante ist nun die dritte Veröffentlichung des Motivs und gefällt mir bis dato am besten. Erinnert mich an “Hurt”, so im Sinne von “my empire of dirt”. Als ironischer Kauf ist mir dann die Wand aber doch zu schade. Trotzdem sehr beeindruckende Linienarbeit und sinnbildlich stark.

Lee Hartnup macht Poster und Kunst für Jaws und das variiert so von ganz gut bis grottig, aber das hier bereitet mir ziemlich krasse Alpträume. Bonus-Pic: Quint on his way down. Haha, das is so doof und straight out of photoshop hell, dass es wieder gut ist.

Kim Asendorf ist ein deutscher Konzeptkünstler, der was mit Glitch-Art und Video-Kunst macht, und hat zusammen mit Ole Fach alle Frames erste Folge der dritten Staffel von Game of Thrones “nach Audio sortiert” (“Frames sorted by audio”). Ich weiß nicht genau was das bedeutet (Ich glaube von leise bis ganz laut), aber das Ergebnis ist ziemlich hypnotisierend.

The future is now! Die Aktion ist leider vorbei, aber Sache an sich will ich trotzdem kurz im Blog feiern: In der Tate Gallery of Modern Art konnte man sich via Livestreams einloggen und mit ferngesteuerten Robotern nachts das Museum erkunden. Hoffentlich wird das ein Modell für die Zukunft und auch interessant für andere Museen. Die Lichtverhältnisse werden zwar mit den Strahlern des Roboters nicht optimal sein, aber es geht hier auch mehr um die Atmosphäre an sich.

The aim of After Dark is to construct the experience of being alone in the gallery after dark for five consecutive nights starting on 13 August. Four camera-equipped robots will trundle around the gallery and viewers will be able to watch on a video stream with a live commentary.

The galleries will be kept in complete darkness, while the robots slink around shining their spotlights on various works of arts. The person controlling them will act as a digital curator. Colonel Chris Hadfield, former commander of the International Space Station, will be the first to take control of the robots remotely from his office in Toronto. Hadfield operated many robots when he was in orbit, so in comparison these should prove a piece of cake.

Ich möchte, dass Pixar einen Kurzfilm über so einen Roboter produziert, der sich seiner selbst bewusst wird und was umwirft. Oder so. (via Wired)
