“Be brave!”

1914. Der erste Weltkrieg beginnt und es ist der erste Krieg, in dem der technische Fortschritt in einem Konflikt wirklich zu spüren ist. Panzer verdrängen Pferde, Gewehre verdrängen Säbel – und mittendrin trotzen der Soldat Albert und sein treues Pferd Joey. Dass Steven Spielberg hier Regie führt ist unverkennbar, wie ich bereits beim ersten Teaser schrieb. Diese Regiearbeit, diese John Williams Musik, diese Dramatik. Das wird ganz toll. Es ist cheesy und es ist wohl jedem klar, wie dieser Film enden muss, aber es schaut trotzdem fantastisch aus.

Drückt genau auf die Tränendrüse, die schon lange kein Film mehr bei mir aktiviert hat. Wird mal wieder Zeit.
