Up in the air ist Jason Reitmans zweiter Film nach seinem großen Durchbruch 2005 mit Thank you for smoking. Nach dem genialen Juno und dem einhergehendem Erfolg und Kritikerlob hatte der Mann praktisch freie Hand für seinen Nachfolger, in dem George Clooney ein sich auf Reisen befindendes Arschloch spielt. Reitman vereint ihm inzwischen vertraute Gesichter wie Jason Bateman und schafft es jede Menge B-Gesichter wie Danny McBride oder Zach Galifinakis unterzubringen. Versprich toll zu werden!

And while all of the characters come to their own conclusions, Reitman doesnt force feed you a message (although he does provide a couple) or provide judgements on these characters, and his film doesn’t end tied with a shinny red ribbon.
